NAPCAN NAPCAN, the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, is conducting Australia’s largest ever national attitudinal survey, to gather information which will help in the planning of effective strategies to prevent child abuse. Avviso launched the survey on Tuesday 8 September as part of National Child Protection Week, with help from NAPCAN National Children’s Champion Therese Rein and Jenny Macklin, Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. VIVID SYDNEY The inaugural Vivid Sydney festival, held by Events NSW, took place in May and June this year, made up of four major components: Smart Light Sydney, Creative Sydney, Luminous at Sydney Opera House and Fire Water. Avviso delivered a successful integrated marketing communications campaign for Smart Light Sydney, securing broad media coverage and marketing activity, which effectively engaged target audiences in Smart Light Sydney and raised awareness of its events and overarching messages. The event was a huge success, with over 200,000 people participating in Smart Light Sydney’s free Light Walk and sell out supporting events for industry such as public talks by light artists and a public exhibition at the University of Technology, Sydney. PR results of Avviso’s campaign included: Circulation of media 54 million worldwide International media coverage in 12 countries Readership of media over 100 million worldwide Over 350 media clips appeared 24 international journalists and six interstate journalists attended The marketing campaign was also very broad in its reach and included digital and social media activity, the largest Bluetooth network ever implemented for a festival event in Australia and a .mobi site for the festival’s People’s Choice Award. www.smartlightsydney.com
STATE LIBRARY OF NSW Avviso has been engaged by the State Library of NSW to help with PR activity for the 100 year anniversary of the Mitchell Library in 2010.
